Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026
thepuristseries.com (“the site”) is owned and operated by Incandescent Essence Studio (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the site collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The site is the home of The Purist Series and Lumeria Noir. If you have any question about it, write to incandescentessence.llc@gmail.com.
The short version
- You can read the whole site without giving us anything.
- If you join our email list or reserve a copy of The Quieted, we keep your email address and use it only for that.
- We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, or tracking cookies.
- We never sell, rent, or trade your information.
Information you give us
Email signups. The site has two signup forms: the newsletter, and “Reserve your copy” for The Quieted. Each asks only for your email address. We use it to send what you signed up for: occasional news about new releases, or a single message when the book is available. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.
These forms are run by our email provider, MailerLite. When you submit one, your email address, the time of signup, and technical details such as your IP address are stored by MailerLite on our behalf. You can read how MailerLite handles data in its privacy policy.
Email to us. If you write to us, we keep your message and address only as long as needed to reply and follow up.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, the site receives basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, and fix problems — not to build a profile of you.
- Hosting. The site is hosted by IONOS, whose servers keep short-term access logs for security and operation.
- Delivery and security. Pages are delivered through Cloudflare, which protects the site from attacks and abuse. Cloudflare processes request data and may set a strictly necessary security cookie (for example
__cf_bm) to tell people apart from bots.
We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service, advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or third-party embeds that follow you around the web. Fonts and images are served from our own site.
Cookies
The site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies you may receive are strictly necessary ones: Cloudflare’s security cookie, cookies the MailerLite form needs to submit your signup, and login cookies used only by site administrators. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Our Instagram journal
Entries in the Journal are copied from our own Instagram account, @the.noir.journal, using Instagram’s official API. This connection reads only our own posts. It does not access anyone else’s Instagram account and collects no information about visitors.
Our Pinterest app
We use a private Pinterest app, connected through Pinterest’s official API, as an analytics tool for our own Pinterest business account. It is:
- Single-user: only we use it, and it connects only to our own Pinterest account.
- Read-only: it never publishes, edits, or deletes pins or boards, and it does not run ads.
- Limited to our own account’s statistics: it reads summary analytics such as page views, pin and post views, and our follower count.
The app does not ask other Pinterest users to sign in, does not access any other person’s Pinterest account or personal information, and collects nothing from visitors to this site. The statistics it reads are aggregate numbers about our own account. They are kept privately, used only to understand how our own content is doing, and never shared with, sold to, or disclosed to anyone. We can revoke the app’s access at any time from our Pinterest settings, and we delete the data it has collected when we stop using it.
Links to other sites
The site links to other services, including Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, X, music streaming platforms, and the InnerLifeWork shop. When you follow a link, you leave this site, and that service’s own privacy policy applies.
Who we share information with
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run the site on our behalf — IONOS (hosting), Cloudflare (delivery and security), and MailerLite (email) — and only as needed for them to provide their service. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Email addresses stay on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Pre-order reservations are kept until the book’s release message has been sent, unless you also joined the newsletter. Server and security logs are kept for short periods by our hosting and delivery providers.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can unsubscribe from any email with one click. Depending on where you live (for example the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California), you may have further rights, such as objecting to processing or receiving a copy of your data. To make any request, email incandescentessence.llc@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days and will not treat you differently for asking.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Connections between your browser and the site are encrypted with HTTPS, and we limit the information we collect to what is described here. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
